Polperro Pinot Noir, 2018 Mornington Peninsula, Victoria
A perfumed nose of dark cherries and earthy cocoa follow onto a pure mineral palate, with red dark fruits. Although compact and structured the finish lingers.
Again quiet a fruit forward hence quiet typical Peninsula PN.
My thoughs: there is that European edge to it. The savoury smokiness almost earthy feeling.
Red fruit and hints of forest floor on the nose. 12months oak gives it a spicy smoky mid palate and a cocoa hint at the finish. Again 20% new oak all other is seasoned oak. Gets plunged 2 during primary fermentation.
