A bigger version of Nero this year from Pannell. Throaty. Also tastes a little like Throaties, which are surely the finest lozenges, aside Fisherman’s Friends.
Black cherry, dried herbs, Throaties, tar, iron filings and dark chocolate. It’s got plenty of grunt and sandy tannin, packed with orange rind and amaro herbs, crunch of fresh blackberry acidity, cast in rugged and rustic mode, yet thoroughly charming. Grip and gravel on a solid finish. Demands food. And I’m thinking some kind of schnitzel.
